Disaster Relief Missions hurricanerita300.jpg

Our roots stem from providing disaster relief and supplies to the Bahama Islands after hurricanes Frances and Jeanne in the fall of 2004. We organized and led short term mission teams to Eleuthera and Grand Bahama Island. We also worked with local missionaries for the sourcing, procurement and delivery of building supplies throughout the winter and summer of 2005. Then hurricane Katrina slammed into the Gulf Coast on the morning of August 29, 2005 devastating the coast of Mississippi and flooding New Orleans. Katrina became the worst natural disaster in the history of the US.

MSN organized and led its first team to Pass Christian, MS on October 17, 2005 seven weeks after the storm. The devastation was unimaginable. As the relief efforts transitioned from muck-out and clean up to rebuild, the need for skilled teams to help families get back into their homes  grew tremendously. As a result, we saw more and more cases of families who used all their available resources/money to get their homes partially rebuilt with no way to get them finished. That is where we stepped in and teamed up with Case Managers to raise money and recruit volunteers to finish the homes one family at a time.

In June 2008 we felt the Lord leading us to work closer to home. At that time we began Operation Tristan in Allendale, SC. This home had been destroyed by a tornado earlier in the year. Our last trip to MS was the last week of July. The Lord promises us that when one door closes another one opens. It looks like South Carolina is where we need to be right now.
